THIS JUNE THE 3RD WILL BE ALTAMAHAW BAPTIST CHURCHS 83 HOMECOMEING. GOD TRULY HAS BLESSED US WITH SO MUCH. MANY HAVE BEEN SAVED OVER THE YEARS, MANY HAVE BEEN CALLED TO MINISTRY AS WELL. I REALLY ENJOY WORSHIPPING GOD HERE. THERE IS GREAT LIBERTY, AND YOU KNOW HIS SPIRIT IS WITH US. ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT OUR CHURCH ARE THE PEOPLE. YOU LOVE GOD. YOU LOVE HIS WORD, AND YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER.YOU KNOW THE POWER OF PRAYER. SO MANY HAVE BEEN SO FAITHFUL OVER THE YEARS AND THAT IS WHY AT THIS HOMECOMEING WE WOULD LIKE TO recognize THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN SUCH A BIG PART OF THE CHURCH FOR SO MANY YEARS. SO PLEASE TRY TO BE AT THE 83 HOMECOMEING. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE BRING SOME OF THE SHUT-INS AS WELL. THERE WILL BE SINGING AT 10:00 AND THE 11:00 SERVICE WILL BE VERY SPECIAL. AND THEN OF COURSE DINNER. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. IF I CAN EVER DO ANY THING FOR YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW. PASTOR STEVE.
There will be a work day June 9th at the church. There will be a lot of digging. We would like to start at 8:30.
Thank You
Youth & Children’s Minister
In January we learned about purity. The definition of purity is freedom from immorality. We learned 3 ways to find freedom in purity. By having faith that God will give us strength, by staying spiritually fit by reading our Bibles and praying often, and by fleeing from sin quickly when we are tempted.
In February we studied prayer. First we practiced praying scripture back to God. Then we broke down the Lord’s prayer and looked at each phrase and it’s meaning. We observed the lessons we can learn from The Prayer of Jabez. Lastly we learned ways to pray on the go, keeping communication with God throughout our busy days.
March was our study of The Passion of Christ, specifically the week leading up to Jesus crucifixion. We learned how much it really cost Jesus for us to have free salvation and we learned the origins behind why we take communion by celebrating a tradition Passover meal.
April we learned more about how to Proclaim the good news of Christ. We followed a 3 step process to write out our testimonies. We learned some creative new ways to share our faith. We also learned that isn’t our power that gives us strength when we witness, but the power of Christ.
In May we learned about producing the fruit of the spirit. When we have Christ in our heart we will show fruits of the spirit. They are listed in Galatians 5. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.
We will continue to Grow and Go in 2018. In June we will study Paradise. July we will study Peace. In August we will learn how to protect our faith through apologetics. September we will study how to Prepare. In October we will study the Presence of the Holy Spirit. November we will be finding Gods path for our lives. And in December we will study the Prize we have in Jesus. Please be in prayer for us as we dive into Gods word.
With Christ love
Pastor Joshua
